We have received many complaints from people recently about downloads not completing, stopping, or timing out.  We are aware of this issue and will diagnose things soon.  Please bare with us, as we are spending time with our families for the holidays and have other projects that need attending to first.

var/cache/apt/archives/partial

NES.app version 2.3.2 was just released on November 23, 2008 which seemed to cause problems with many of our users.  Our best guess is that 2.3.2 was released and was compatible with firmware 2.2, BUT broke functionality in firmwares before 2.2.

However, Zdziarski seems to have fixed this.  On November 26, 2008, version 2.3.3 of the NES.app was released.  I have tested this version 2.3.3 and have confirmed it to work on firmware versions previous to 2.2.  Go ahead and update to NES.app 2.3.3 and your ROMs you got from us should now continue to work.

First, let me ask you this:  How much money have you spent on applications that you love from the App Store?  Now, if we had decided to charge for our work, how much would you pay?  However, we do not charge for these.  We just ask kindly for your donations and support…………

After releasing the GENESIS and GBA ROM packages, we have been plagued with support request about the downloading never finishing and timing out.  Even after we released it, I went home and downloaded just one of the packages, and it seriously took 60 minutes!  The reason for this is because our server that the content is hosting on is a shared server located in the Netherlands.

Our next focus is on moving the content from that server to a new and faster server.  However, things aren’t cheap, especially when you’re looking for a server that offers a high amount of bandwidth, which is what we need because of the popularity and the size of the ROM packages.

Hence, we are asking for your support in providing some donations.  We don’t need much, and every donation counts, even if it’s just $10, $5, or $1.  Once we get enough donations from the community, we will move the content and then continue working on our other ROM package releases (PSX, MAME, and SNES).  For those of you who keep asking us to release the PSX ROMs, you need to know that it will not be possible with our current situation.  The ROMs will gain too much popularity, and we will go over on our bandwidth allocations and everything will crash, hence why we are waiting until we get new server space.

Drum Roll, Please

Yep, that’s right!  You’ve been patiently waiting, and we’ve been gathering the popular ROMs that you have requested.  We have released the GENESIS ROMs Package, as well as the GBA ROMs Packages tonight!  It was a lot of hard work and long hours, so if you appreciate it, and want us to continue doing more, please donate!  Continue to check back over the next few weeks as we will soon be releasing the MAME and PSX ROMs Packages…

This is our first release of the ROMs package. and we are still collecting and organizing new ROMs for future package releases. Finally, the switch has been made!  We’ve been dedicated to the Installer.app since the beginning of time, but the time has come to drop support for our Installer.app repositories and switch over to a Cydia.app repository.  The are many reasons for the switch, such as all the problems Installer.app is plagued with, especially in firmwares 2.0 and later, but the main reason is because it’s so much easier for us to support.  So while we will miss and look foward to our future meetings Installer.app, we welcome home Cydia.app.  Click Here for a tutorial on adding our new repository to your Cydia.app.

You will notice our new repository has a new URL.  You will want to add http://apt.123Locker.com to your Cydia repository list.  We will no longer be supporting our Installer.app repositories, but have decided to keep them online for any users that might still need access to them, and don’t have the latest and greatest firmwares with Cydia pre-installed.  For more information about our no longer supported Installer.app repositories, click here.

Comment back with your experience with our new Cydia repository.  Don’t forget to include what device your using, especially which firmware version you’re running, along with your results.

The good ‘ole NES ROMs package that you knew and loved is now back, but this time on our Cydia repository!  Tested and confirmed to work with iPhone Firmware v2.0.

Make sure you have our Cydia repository added to your Cydia.app sources (See Tutorial).  You can then find the NES ROMs Package 1 under the GAMES section in Cydia.

If you are having problems, please post a comment including what device and firmware you’re running on and what the specific error is, and we’ll see what we can do.

So far, the NES ROMs Package 1 has been confirmed to work on firmware versions:
